Hello, i recently have gotten back into rc after being away since roughly 96.
I always had rc10s, 10ts, but always wanted a gt.
I aquired a few rc10gts and im trying to figure out roughly the era of them.
They have a blue flat chassis, as best i can figure after reading up, one is a ft model, it has anodized shocks, graphite shock towers, blue hardware, mip cvds, titanium turnbuckles, etc.
The other chassis is the same, but it had blue shocks instead, and blue aluminum turnbuckles.
I remember i think in 93ish when the gt came out, its chassis was like my 10t, black aluminum tub.
So when did this blue flat chassis come out?
Ive also noticed that it seems bodies are not available for these? Has anyone grafted a different model body to it with luck?
One more thing, my turnbuckle ends on both are like an upgraded version, instead of a typical ball end, these have a spherical end, and a bolt going thru them.
Are those ends still around, and if so, where can i buy those?

the flat blue chassis is about 2000.
one sounds like a FT
the other with blue shocks sounds like a RTR. (chassis might be different lengths also)

Like the others above said it sounds like a RTR with the blue shocks and the other sounds like the FT. Are they both blue chassis?

Common thing around me once the RTR became so easy to acquire was to capture the ends of the rod ends. Some used shock ends like RC Chris posted and others used traxxas rod ends or duratrax rod ends. I don't know why the rtr ball cups popped off so easily but it was annoying as hell. Its like they were already worn out when they installed them . Either way it would be easier to see what you need with pix

FT blue pan chassis was slightly longer and used plastic nose brace mounts and later style plastic bumper while the early RTR was shorter, used earlier style bumper and metal nose brace mounts.

The RTR GT plus used the longer chassis and plastic nose brace mounts..... The plus also used black lid fuel tanks

At least that's what I remember.

Thanks alot for the help guys. From what i read i have a ft and a rtr plus, 2000 ish era.
The chassis is same on both, both have plastic nose brace mounts.
I plan on making one nice one for myself, and see whAts leftover to possibly build the other out.
Here are a few pictures.
The photo of the front body mount is on the ft. In the center it has a small part that i cant figure out what it does.
Does anyone know?

since both the same length, sounds like a ft and a race rtr. Seams like that piece someone added to the front for a brace maybe. doesnt look to go there. Go to rc10.com and go through the manuals. (go to cars and trucks, then go to discontinued models. and then rc10gt

Was the same with kits for awhile. While kit ball cups were suppose to be the same, and same part number as buying them sepratley, For some reason we woudl just pay the 5 bucks for the package ball cups off the wall. and use those in the kits. dont know why or how. but the bought ones not from the kit seamed to hold better. (b3/t3 era) i think even the b4ft i had i swapped out right away.

I know sometimes if you used the RPM ones and turnbuckles like lundsford the whole thing was too "stiff" and would pop off.
