A while back i purchased a Tamiya Martini Porsche 911 body kit and put it away for a future build. I decided to finally start the build a few days before Christmas. The donor parts came from a crashed carbon chassis mustang DS car i had laying around.

I started with a "B" stamped Emerald Green anodized chassis, nose plate and nose tubes. I scored this anodized beauty on ebay from Don Martin a while back and had been saving it for a future build.

The intended wheels were the HPI Porsche set but they proved to small for this project. They were made for a different line. I ended up getting a set by Tamiya in red. On both sets i painted the inner wheel black

The Tamiya body is mounted, prepped and ready for paint....

Of course i managed to place the eight upside down ....it was too late to remove


Front end bumper and mounts. Body mount were positioned different than stock to accomadate the body



Powered by Castle Creations Sidewainder 3 brushless non sensored setup. 4 pole



The front end is a joy to look at..reminds me of a dragon fly

Those are Tamiya wheels and tires. They are 12mm hex sized so they fit the DS. I enlarged the center hole so that it clears the axle and sits perfectly on the hex.

I used the front hub and axle assembly from the associated sc10 in order to use regular 12mm hex wheels. You'll have to enlarge the hinge pin hole in order to mount onto the DS. You can mount HPI, Tamiya, RC4WD or any other 12mm hex wheel you prefer. You may have to enlarge the center hole on some of the wheels though.

Thanks Diamond Dave! The SC10 Front axle and hub assembly is what i mounted onto the DS.

Thanks! And you are so right. I was contemplating using the body on a nitro DS but the electric is more suited for the 911 body being that both have the engine in the rear.

Thanks! it took much trial an error with various wheel offsets and hex sizes to get it right. Wheelbase was a major issue in trying to mate the Tamiya body to the Associated chassis. The front wheelwell had to be enlarged in order for the wheel to clear the body.

I'm guessing by the info above in the post its these wheels TAMIYA RC COMPLETE WHEEL SET "PORSCHE RSR FOX RIMS" 1:10 1in / 1 5/16in WIDE

Those are Tamiya wheels and tires. from their porsche rsr kit. I got them from ebay. klavy69 (thanks Todd!) posted a link.
