Is this an RC10L??

OK, i'm an off-road guy so know nothing about on-road racing whatsoever.

I have this car available to me, and having looked at a few images on here it looks like an RC10L. Am i correct? I realize it is hard to see much with the body on but this is the only photo i have of it currently i'm afraid.

Anything I should look out for and can anybody fill me in about this particular model please?

Thanks in advance.

That looks like an Associated RC10L to me. It appears to be a later fiberglass version of the car that came with graphite braces and nerf wings.

Can you take a picture with the body off?

Thanks for the reply.

I've not got it yet - it has been offered to me. I agree though having googled them quite a bit today, and i have seen them with the carbon front brace and nerf bars. I will try to get the guy to send me a shot without the body.

What dates were these please? So you say there were different models? Any info really appreciated.

Yes RC10L fiberglass version. I just hope it´s not that expensive because the screws and steering rods look rusty to me and the plastic parts are duyed red or black color what isn´t the original look. But yes a picture without body would be helpful, I think also for the bottom of chassis as this could be damaged or very worn when racing on parking lots.

BTW the rear wheels are TRC BBS style.

The guy who sent me the picture has collected up all of his old RC gear and sent me some pictures with an eye towards letting me have it all. It has been stored in a damp garage by the looks of it and a lot of the metalwork on all of the cars seems to have surface rust unfortunately.

They are all off road apart from this one, which i have only really just taken a closer look at.

He used to race on carpet indoors so hopefully the bottom won't be too bad.

I've messaged him for some more pictures - thanks for the reply!!

Looks like a fiberglass 10L to me with the old school frontend. Graphite front brace is common addition. Nerf bar looks aftermarket/non-AE to me.

Of course if we had a nekkid pic, could tell more.

Thanks for the replies and info guys.... these cars are completely new to me.

I emailed the guy last night requesting some more pictures, so if/when i get them i'll post them up.

What do you mean by 'old school front end' please?

Using the best pics I could find from some quick googling...

This would be the old style front end...

And this would be the "new" dyanmic strut front end...

Ahhh i see the difference. Pretty obvious when you look at it like that! Many thanks.

I'll try to get some new pictures but i'll be trying to get my hands on the car itself fairly soon and see if i can tidy it up.
