Picked this up tonight - Cadillac

This was offered to me from a guy my son works with. He had recently got it from a relative. It's nothing special, but it does have a couple nice items on it. RPS bellcrank, aluminum spring collars, T&A titanium dogbones, and a Tekin PXT esc. Some extra holes.... and a few unfortunate slots in the tub side to attach the on/off switch. But, it's straight...... so it's got that going for it. I have no real plans for it yet. But, I think it may become my entry for the Classic Class at the Vonats. We'll have to see.

Overall, not bad for $50.

And some Kyosho platinum shocks hahaha

Pretty honest looking car there. Should be a good runner

What's the green endbell motor?

Thankfully the rc10 rear shocks are in the box.

A Revtech stock motor.

Those cells look like they are mint under the clear stuff!

Yeah, the one is really nice. The other has some corrosion issues, but the labels are OK.

That's the first I've seen where the servo is mounted at an angle. Was that a common practice of the era?

It's funny you mention that. I saw that the other day on a car somewhere (ebay or FB). I don't ever recall seeing it being done back in the day I was racing RC10s... but who knows.

I think he just wanted the servo horn and rod to be inline. So he drilled another hole in the tub to angle the servo instead of just bending the rod so it all worked smoothly.

Spent some time with Dr. Dremel this afternoon. Put this thing on a little old school diet. Opened up some holes, rounded some corners, and chopped the sides 5/16". More than I normally would, but I had to get rid of those notches.

Nice work,
I would like to be able to sort through that tool box.

There's nothing overly interesting in the tackle box. There are a couple new bottom load AE shock rebuild kits you don't see too often these days though.

Biggest thing I was glad to see in there were the factory rear shocks.

Oh well, it's still fun though!
I would hang the bottom load rebuild kits on the pegboard, as you said you don't see them very often.
:)

I'm hoping to run it in the Classic class at the Vonats. But I'm starting to worry that I may not even make it there. :?
