YZ10 or Cat

I wasn't really sure where to put this thread but here we are so...
I'm thinking of of either restoring a Yokomo YZ10 or a Schumacher cat XLS or just getting a ReRe Cat XLS but I can't make up my mind so I thought I'd ask you good people .
Here's some of my reasoning .
Pro for the Yokomo
My friend might get a Cat and we never have the same car , ever ,it's a thing ......
I have a Yz-834b so another Yokomo might be nice as an evolution type of thing .
The YZ10 has a reasonable supply of parts still to be found on eBay
I like the design visually.

Pro for the Schumacher
The Cat has a better supply of spares .
I could get a ReRe and the safety of a brand new car , I found that often vintage parts can be fragile even if new in packet .
I like the design visually .

So does anybody have additional Pro's and Con's that they can add ?

I'll vote purely on esthetics...I think the Cat just looks more sleek and clean; the Yoke looks more boxy.

That's all I got.

That's true but then I like the yz-834b so boxy can work for me .

the YZ-10 is much easier to work on and it is a slightly newer design compared to the original XLS.

both chassis have pretty much the same features. you could retro fit the YZ-10 with even newer 92-94 parts as well.

both cars are tight on electronics space. if you went with the YZ-10 then stick the 870 body on it as you will get some more height and air cooling into the body.

i think since they are so similar it will be which ever falls into your lap cheapest.
Thanks , it will be a runner not a shelf Queen so easier to work on might be a good thing .

I doubt I'd get too seriously into racing other than maybe once a year at a vintage meet so high spec tuning is only really going to be to enhance the pleasure of driving it , it will get driven regularly though .
I think I'm leaning toward the Yokomo , partly because my friend may get a Cat and has no interest in a YZ10 and also because of the forward compatibility of parts spanning quite a few years of production .

YZ10 because it is the 1st car that ever got me a trophy. No further endorsement necessary.
