i like where this is heading....so your contemplating a firebird body for DS #1, whats your choice for this little gem?

The wheelbase looks way too short!

Uh, You do know that the chassis is missing correct?

The DS wheelbase is about 10 inches in length and varies depending on how you set it up.

I have a 68 camaro that I have had since around 1990 so that's what I want this one to be but i might be to late because I can't find an HPI 68 camaro any where.

Ahh, good point

But the ground clearance is way too low!!

jk jk

Great start to a car. It wasn't until recently that I even knew aluminum DS arms existed.

HAHAHA yes...that is the only flaw the DS has...extremely low ground clearance! Ive had to use chassis protectors to avoid scrape marks.

Aluminum arms were made for the DS but they are very hard to find now a days. I have a set of rear silver aluminum arms but have been searching for a set of fronts for nearly 3 years. In that search frenzy I did find a set of white nylon arms which I purchased and used on my "white parts special" DS build.

What is the ground clearance of one? Is it atleast more then the average modern touring car? This car is so tempting the only reason i havent gotten is that all the one i see for sale are out my price range lol that or they dont take trades

The 68 camaro is a great body by HPI...its a one piece so there is no attaching the rear trunk area to the body for completion. Unfortunately they stopped producing it so it's very hard to find.

Its the worse feeling to find something you like to then find out that you are too late for the purchase.

I am on the lookout for one so if you see one let me know. I have some updated pictures for this one but I can't seem to make it work on my phone so I will have to wait till Monday when I am at work.

Yes they are real hard to find. I have 4 sets. 2 sets of blue, 1 set of gold and 1 set of silver.

Smart move on your part in purchasing several of them.

I'm sure that was not an easy task...almost as hard as finding an unopened set of front and rear tires or genuine associated DS body.

perfect example:

Ive had a DS pickup truck body for a few years but just last week i acquired the original decal set for it.

Part of the fun in the hobby is searching for parts.
