What to do with Radio Shack Golden Arrow

I came across a Radio Shack Golden Arrow at the Hershey auto swap meet for $10 without a controller. Does this thing have any value without the remote? Basically, I'm debating throwing it on ebay or keeping it and modding it with real radio gear, oil filled shocks, etc. A kid up the street had one when I was young and it was the only RC buggy on the street that even came close to my small but growing Tamiya collection at the time (by virtue of its 1/10 scale size and 540 motor). The kid went into the local Radio Shack to buy a Red Arrow that was in the sales flyer and it was out of stock for the foreseeable future. Surprisingly, they sold him the "upscale" Golden Arrow at the price of the Red Arrow.

There's a couple of guys on CRGroups forum that do conversions of some of the better toy shop cars ( I know I hate the term "toy " but it's just a way of describing one toy from another ) , some of the grasshopper clones even have some parts crossover with Tamiya so are even more suited to conversion and with oil shocks ,modern radio and modern motors/ESC go very well .if you look for posts by Nowinaminuite on rcgroups car talk section you'll see a few of his conversions , a really nice guy and excellent forum member .

I have one myself that I lost the remote to over the years . If it don't sell on eBay , one of these days I'll upgrade it . Been saying that for years
