Hello,

The knowledge is on the forum for sure... but to unlock it, you need to say "hello", "thank you" and such words that initially appear useless but go a looooong way when asking people for help ;)

Thank you,

Good bye,

Paul

the rear is easy, it's pretty much just a hex adapter for a 3/16" axle, there are a bunch of different styles and offsets, so it's kind of trial and error based on the body and wheels you wish to run, although you can only go so far before you run out of threads on the axle.

the front setup is available from B4.2 or sc10 I believe.

quick search on sc10 hex showed this link. this link makes it very easy, for all 4 corners, actually.

I think the block needs to be drilled out to 1/8" or use corresponding sc10 c-hub. that i think also needs to be drilled for 1/8" hinge pin.

I would also check geometry of the link arm, you might need to drill a hole closer to axle to get the same turning angles as the stock parts.

Thank you for taking the time to write a reply Lonestar. And thank you a ton for the information jwscab. I did a 2nd google search on this question and managed to find a old forum that had a link to the team Associated website that listed the part for the conversion but sadly the link was dead but after using Internet archive i was able to get access to it again. So if anyone wants the part list let me know and i will post screenshots of it. Also just a random question, but i know some companies used to make 4wd conversion kits for the rc10 did anyone try putting one of those conversion on a rc10ds?

Excellent question. That would be pretty cool to see a 4wd ds. I would say there needs to be some custom work on the front end to fit the trans.

hi i think you should post screen shots or part numbers ,would be great as well. for people who are new and want to use regular hex tires on their ds . please

i myself am included in this.but after doing tome reading. i ordered sc10 front knuckle assemblies. now have to find the correct hex spacer in order to make use of the 7.99 trinity foam tires the local hobby shop has

Pretty soon no more HEX conversions are going to be needed for the DS crowd,

In the testing phase now..................................................

Dont want to count my chickens before they hatch but us DS guys will have rear wheels soon enough for stock pin type axles.............................

I'm testing them as we speak for durability at the pin drive and acetone bath to remove worn tires....

Cool! I think the challenge is finding something to go between the stock front and rear axles and an attainable tire. The stock wheels are great, but even if those were plentiful, the DS tires are an odd size and really hard to find.

Yes that’s the issue for DS owners or people who want to build one.

The tires are plentiful worldwide for the wheels we are making I just need a few more weeks for testing, the pin drive is tricky I don’t want any failures.

I will have a few choice obsolete items for the DS coming soon, I don’t like struggling for parts and paying quadruple for a 4-12$ part anymore

We will have 2 styles of 1 piece wheels also we are making the hubcaps for the stock wheels in colors front and rear and the most important which I’ll keep a secret till done
