What do people do that fly in? I figure 2 vintage cars (2wd and 4wd), maybe a heavy metal truck and all the associated support parts would be very hard to check in airline. Not a typical modern weekend racer set up which I wouldn't really care if they lost.

2 or 3 cars, box or two of backup parts or car, batteries, etc.

Feels like I need a 14hr. drive to avoid? So tamiyadan, a 3 hor. drive, no big deal.

last year I saw Brandon packing stuff up into a hard case suitcase type box. snap latches and a carry handle/wheels I think.

Nothing ruins the vintage nationals๐Ÿ˜

Itโ€™s a great event, anytime you can race little rc cars against other people, itโ€™s always fun....whoever is going to win, is going to win, regardless of their equipment, you can put an original gold pan with a 1200mah pack, silver can motor, and mechanical speed control into the hands of a Alex K per say or a Tim Cover and heโ€™s going to win๐Ÿ‘

Well put, you just described most racing or at least my local scene well. There are a handful of guys who seem to spend 24/7 at the track combined with some natural talent who always win no matter what the class or rules. I only recently started racing again after 25 years and it is clear I will never beat these guys no matter if I ran twice the motor. So I just do my own thing, happy when I improve and don't come in last.

Vonats would be great just to see these cars all on track. That said, I'd love if it was all silver can.

I can appreciate tamiyadan's saltiness. It is refreshing. I am not kidding.

I mark my years with VONAT misses. It's already time for another one??!! Many "props" and well wishes to those who manage to get there.
