Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
I got the itch to start from scratch on a conversion case. The last version I gave up on- the motor plate had to be rotated slightly and the holes couldn’t be very deep without hitting gears. Additionally I was able to really drop the diff and slide it forward with this new design. It bolts up to stealth holes and uses a stealth trans brace.
Now that I am close to happy with it, I’m considering adding 6 gear ears so it can be bolted into anything. Also I need to widen the diff area so a B6 diff can also be used. They tend to be cheap and readily available. I will probably do a version for the newer externally adjustable slipper setup as well, it will take some redesign but it is handy.

That looks awesome Jeff. Well done!
Do we know if RB10 uses the same gear diff as B6?

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
The RB10 and DR10 gear diff is a little narrower. I believe it’s the same width as b5 series. B6 ball and gear diffs are sold as complete so it makes more sense to offer this with that fitment. Otherwise people would need to buy a lot of individual parts.

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
So I guess we know what happened to Speed Racer after the show was discontinued??? He became a mad engineering scientist machinist.. All this stuff is crazy cool. The number #1 thing I really enjoy is what type of creative people show up here with there restos, and share ideas of how they keep these rc vehicles going. MY HATS OFF to all of you.. Jeff do you make the complete A& L trans and clutch still??

Re: GoMachV’s 3d printing thread
Hahaha!
So, we are pretty much out of trans cases for the LW, and have been out of outdrives since before I acquired the company. We had a workaround for the outdrives- until AE dropped everything. Ugh. So… with our 91 prototype coming this year we wanted to do something special. We will have a molded (as with all the other parts!) case that looks just like a lethal weapon on the outside but uses modern internals from a B6 series with a DR10/SR10/RB10 slipper (as it fits nicely inside the original gear cover!). All the parts will be molded in white and will be dyable so you can have whatever color you wish
These are the final prints before I sent the files off to have the molds made. The molded parts will have the outer mounting eyes that are not shown in these pics for ease of printing (and because the prototype requires they be trimmed off)
