What In The Worlds Could That Be?!

I was recently asked if I would like to buy an old RC10. While the voice in my head immediately responded with a rather rude "Duh!", my fingers managed to type out a polite request for more details and a picture or two.

Here is the picture that I received...

The RC10 was further described as being a graphite car with extra a-arms, extra transmissions, an extra graphite chassis, and an aluminum tub. As I studied the picture that had been sent to me, I began wondering if the aluminum tub that was mentioned might have a "C" stamped on it.

I asked for additional pictures, and later in the day I received these...

As some of you already know, I have been collecting -- "hoarding" is probably a better word for it  -- RC10 Worlds cars since long before the re-re was ever a thought in someone's mind. Since I hate the idea of owning Chinese-made RC10s, I continue to purchase and restore the vintage Worlds cars whenever I come across them. I have no idea what number this will be in my collection, but I figured that I would create this thread to document its restoration.

I decided to begin this project by first disassembling and cleaning all of the extra parts. I then worked on repairing the destroyed layers of graphite at the front of the extra chassis.

Now I have this Horizon Hobby TQ10 Graphite...

Image

It is far from perfect (the chassis still needs a lot of work, for example), but overall I am excited considering that this is basically a bonus car being built from all of the extra parts. I am keeping it completely original, including the use of bushings instead of bearings and threaded rods instead of turnbuckles. As far as I can tell, the only parts missing are the threaded rods, the #6627 thrust bearing washers, and the body.

I made a small amount of progress on the TQ10 Graphite today.

Not yet, but thank you for asking. I guess that I need to get started on it soon.
