Hitch in my Stealth

I just rebuilt my stealth transmission with new bearings and a t4 top shaft and fresh grease. I figured it would be nice and smooth, but now it has a nice hitch in it. This is when I have it screwed to the motor plate, but no clutch on it. I'll be tearing it down again to check, but I'm looking for suggestions. I used old ring and balls but sanded down the rings with 1000 grit... I wonder if I had a flat surface somewhere?

Put the stock top shaft back in it and see if the b4 top shaft could be messed up.

Turns out it was some grit stuck in the root of a few of the teeth... I tried the top gear and it was about the same. Looked at the idler gear and it still had junk in it. Apparently I didn't clean it as well I thought I did... :(

Any tips on cleaning the gears? I was think tooth brush, but that might not be enough.

I use a brush and sometimes an exacto knife
