been wanting to get some alloy dhawk parts to build a rc10 for some time now
I bit the bullet and went ahead in bought the full set
over the past couple of days ive started the other parts also

so far everything going into it is brand new parts except the stealth tranny I bought , but most of it will be new as well , after I rebuild it and shove it in the alloy tranny case

anyone used the mono shock setup what size shock do I use
also anyone have some links to current replacement shocks that will work with the rear (and hopefully the front)
would like them blue or gold alloy

Nice! I have the rear bulkhead and it's spot on.

I hope everything is to spec (esp the screw holes)

parts have started to trickle in
tranny, hinge pins, and hardware showed up today

tracking shows dhawk kit just passed customs (weeeeee)

was going to order some shocks , but might just use these new old duratrax front truck shocks in the rear, and a 10gt front shock for the front mono (with the extra weight want to make sure they are nice and stiff so I get minimal chassis slap )

tranny seems ok its pretty gunky and the diff is a bit tight but should do the trick

did a bit more work today before I head off to the shop

what bearings do I use in the rear with the 3/16 axles the kit I picked up says it comes with 3/16 but I got it today and there are no flanged ones for the rear that are 3/16

I believe you need 3/16" x 3/8" plain bearings (no flange). Don't take that as "gospel", check/verify.

Looks great so far. I like the contrast between the gold and black. I'd di8tch that gold nose plate in favor of a black one.

that was the plan but this build is getting expensive fast lol , and I had the gold plate on hand

it has some small scratches on the bottom so I'm probably going to rhino line the bottom in black

still need to buy ball studs and turn buckles
then all the electronics

Lunsford still sells both the classic and punisher style turnbuckles direct. I will be distributing them as well in a couple weeks, but you can call or email barb at Lunsford and she can hook you up.

thanks
i dug in my parts bins and found 3 that should be old punisher turnbuckles (lets hope i can find the rest)
if i cant find the set i will for sure contact them direct

not much more done tonight
dug in my bins and found a good set of light alloy front axles (quick session with some 800 grit and they look new )
got them installed
and then made some nose brace tubes out of some tube stock i had lying around

dug into the big oh box of tires i got from here
https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=43400
and found a really nice set with no /little use that will fit nice

my store is closed tomorrow so i have my fingers crossed that my lhs has a set of bearings for the rear hubs , and front rims . then its just a waiting game for the other parts

or I did order these shocks also (internal spring) I was going to use them for the front mono
but I can use the tires and rims I have in the rear if I use them

im torn I like the blue beefy ones a lot
but the black one actually go with the build and are pretty sleek

any thoughts

they are pretty cool looking
but they are a bit odd ( im sure with the spring kit included you can tune them)
they are made for crawlers and will be great for the front mono setup

they have a spring on top and under the piston inside the shock body (long one on top, short under)

but were to stiff for the rear

I ended up finding some alloy spacers and did get the blue shocks to work without rubbing the wheels or hitting the rear bulkhead

Sorry, I couldn't do more than a thank you for the reply last night. I was experiencing technical difficulty with the internet last night. :?

I'm going to look into those black shocks. Maybe with some tuning they can be made to work.

Your black/gold is looking very nice. I'd have to give up the cash and put a black nose plate on it. Maybe have Ramen Noodles for a few days and get one!
