Hello all,

I'm JJ and from north central IL. I'm 36 and haven't had a R/C since the mid '90s, but have been wanting to get back into it lately. First got into R/C in the late '80s/early '90s, I remember having a Tyco Fast Traxx around '90. My last R/C's were a Futaba FXT stadium truck and RC10T2 somewhere around '95-'96.
I have a 2 1/2 year old boy and would like to get another stadium truck for myself, and a little beginner R/C for him, because I know he'll get a kick out of it and love watching it bash around the yard. So, a couple of weeks ago I do a little searching specifically for a RC10T4.3 RTR Lipo combo to purchase new, and to my unpleasant surprise found out they're discontinued and I cannot find one for sale ANYWHERE. I then reach out to Associated directly via phone, spoke to a very nice gentleman and unfortunately he informed me he did not know if the company was replacing, or had any plans of replacing the RC10T4.3 RTR combo with a new version or not. So I suppose I'll hold out for a while and hopefully, sooner than later, see a new RC10T rtr combo model hit the market.
Thanks and take care all.

Edit- correction, last trucks I had was a Futaba FXT stadium truck (not the Kyosho ST), and the RC10T2.

Hello and welcome aboard.

I'm from central Il (near Springfield) but have been living in Alabama since '96.
I haven't had much experience with Stadium Trucks but I know there are many members here who have and I reckon they'll chime in here shortly.

Anyway, you should check out the RC10 truck forum here. Lots of good info to be found there. :D

Welcome! Northern illinois has a good vintage community. In april, we had a nice turnout for the big spring race in lake in the hills.

If you're up for a bit of tinkering, you could probably find a nice deal on a used t4 team truck to put electronics of your choice into

Very cool. That course in Utica shut down quite a few years ago (early 2000's maybe). Assuming you're talking about the track that was at the intersection of Rt.6 & Rt.178, right off of I-80?
Also, seeing you're in Shorewood, last Friday I got lucky and found a hobby shop in Plainfield called Leisure Hours Hobbies, which just so happened to have a few RC10T4.3 RTR's in stock. So I picked one up Sunday. Very cool shop with quite a LARGE inventory. I had no idea RC shops like that were still in existence, let alone only an hour drive form me... lol

Thanks marty. I've swung out to the lake a few times in the past to check out those boat races. And hot damn those things are wicked fast. I'll certainly be taking my little guy out there to check them out next year. Indeed, Main street station is a good stuff, its definitely a popular place to out-of-towners.

Thanks all for the warm welcomes. As mentioned above to a01butal, I ended up finding a new RC10T4.3 RTR over the weekend at a kind of locate hobby shop (65 minute drive). I have yet to take it out of the box (very busy), but hopefully get some time to bash around the backyard with it this coming weekend. Definitely want to get a RPM front bumper though before getting too rough with it.

Yes, that's the old kart track I think they made it a garden center now. As far as Leisure Hours Hobby Shop they also have an indoor/outdoor track down I55 by Mobil refinery kind of halfway between I55 and Rt 53. Also as far as hobby shops a little further east on Rt 30 in Cresthill, IL is Walt's Hobby Shop and that's a pretty cool place as it has been in business since early 1950's.

Checked out Walt's hobby shop website. I'll be making a stop there next time I head over that way. Thanks for bringing it up.
