I have an old what i think is an RC 10 T3 that is missing the servo i also don't have a crystal or a remote.

can you please tell me what parts I need to get this up and running?

the part number on the chassis is 7308

it has a rooster reversible nova 14 and a BEC AM receiver NER-102

you basically need a radio and servo. plenty of options out there, some cheap, some not.

the receiver you have takes crystals, and requires a transmitter that matches. it may be a little more difficult to track a suitable crystal and transmitter these days due to the age of this equipment. New radios that don't use crystals are quite easy to find that work at 2.4Ghz and will provide a very glitch free operation.

servos are quite readily available and can be had for decent pricing.

I would suggest the following to just get the car up and running, these would be a reasonable cost and reliable operation:

the little receiver will replace the one you current have.

for a decent budget servo:

those will get you up and running. not cutting edge technology or super fast, but will allow you to drive the car. You will also need a battery pack.

One more thing for the car that i need help with is where to find the correct screws for everything that is not connected since everything is pretty much being replaced.

your best bet will be to go to team associated's website, look up rc10t3 in the discontinued tab, and review all the documents. there should be a catalog and manual that you can reference (download, print out) and you will find exactly the hardware and sizes you are missing, along with any parts as well.

from there you can review ebay or this place for particular parts. the T3 uses standard hardware, 4-40, 6-32 mostly. you can find that locally at hardware stores for the more 'plain' hardware.

for this t-3 what kind of battery should i get?

6 cell nicad or nimh or a 2s(2 cell) lipo battery.

it really depends on how far down the rabbit hole you want to go. if you already have a nicd or nimh charger and are just going to run this around a little here and there, get one of those batteries. a good nimh battery will work well for you I think.

if you plan on using this often, or competitively, look into a lipo battery and charger and charging sack. They are inherently a little more dangerous with misuse, so some precautions are necessary. they have a ton more power density and and capacity.

Will the motor and ESC handle a lithium ion battery? I have chargers for both lithium on and NIMH

yes, they likely will be OK, though not sure what motor exactly is in there.

One thing to use caution with, regardless of the type of battery, is the overall capacity (mAh). once you get above 2000-3000mAh you have a significantly longer run time, which can very much stress the brushed motors and speed control. So when you get it all up and running, drive it around for 5 minutes or so, and check temps on the motor and esc. anything more than very warm to the touch will result in a short lifetime for those parts. the lower wind the motor, the more quickly it will heat up.

the more you load the parts, the hotter they will get also, so asphalt, dirt will be OK, tall grass and sandy surfaces will create more loading.

New to the site as well and just picked up a RC10 T3 and a bunch of parts for it but the chassis is broken where the front end screws in. Seems like this is/was a common problem. In any case, anyone know where I can pick one of these up? Haven't had much luck.

Perhaps there is a more readily available aftermarket chassis that may be compatible? Just looking to get this thing running again, nothing crazy.

ebay will be your best bet. No aftermarket chassis available that I know of but have seen multiple t3 for sale posts on facebook groups and ebay...

Thunder Tiger Phoenix ST is a T3 clone. Not all parts are the same but the chassis is. Only thing is the type of plastic, that could be different...
