Trying to sort through some Associated shock bodies and wanted to know where you measure them to determine the part number. e.g. 0.71" is that the overall length, bore depth or the diameter where the spring sits?

I think "0.71" refers to the stroke and not to the length of any single part. That said, each shock assembly will require different length bodies and shafts so perhaps someone here can provide a chart showing the various body lengths. Also, the seal packs in early shocks loaded from the outside while later ones loaded from inside and this might affect overall length of the body for a given stroke -- the difference shouldn't be much if any.

Actually, I have a couple early bottom load bodies close at hand and here are overall dimensions:

0.56" #6455 - 1.08"
1.32" #6452 - 1.85"

Great stuff, much appreciated. Will get my verniers out and sort through what I have.
