I'm putting back together a team car and I came across this: there is a hardened washer at the left, and what appears to be an aluminum (shock washer), grooved washer to the right.

How would you proceed? I'm looking at Team Associated No. 6594.

Additionally, flat washer side toward the bearing?

That is too funny. I came across the exact same thing while restoring an RC10. You are on the right track with the #6594 thrust bearing washer kit.

As Chris said that is the right kit. You can then choose to use the brass that it will come with (updated, good for runners) or keep your thrust bearing (for an era correct build)
