Gotta hand it to the Bandit.......

In the midst of getting into this hobby and seeing what's out there, I picked up a near-mint Bandit. Had to replace the MSC servo, lube the steering servo, and get a NiMh battery, but after that it worked flawlessly. I let my kids bash it around at the local indoor track this past weekend, which resulted in a cracked wheel and having to reposition the motor, but otherwise no harm done. I'm enjoying an RC10 rebuild, but for the time being, I'm having a blast tossing this thing around the front yard (we are blessed with tons of shade, which means the grass barely grows there and we essentially have our own little dirt paddock).

I just replaced the MSC with the Novak ESC I won't be using on my RC10 (going brushless), and am trying to get the hot Diamond motor that came with my RC10 going so I can give the Bandit a little more pizazz. It's proven surprisingly tough, and while it doesn't corner well, it's very easy and pleasant to drive in the dirt. I know it's a cheap RTR, but I'm having fun with it.

The bandit is a surprisingly good platform... Must be the TRX-1 genes, I guess

There's no shortage of people with a low opinion of Traxxas.... if you're having fun with it, that's all that really matters. :D
