Hello,

I have the release of the Ford Baja F150 and the Super Hotshot 2012 - the truck is built, but the Hotshot is going through the build process.

On my truck, I lost full time 4 wheel drive when the spline on the cup ground down in the rear diff. I ordered new parts and will rebuild - but how should I rebuild it? Should I be using metal gears or plastic gears? What is the consensus on this ?

As soon as I can post some pics of the truck and car I will.

Are there metal gears available?

Plastic. The metal idler gear that comes (or came, don't know how it is on reissues) with the buggy versions has the tendency to disintegrate when used with hotter motors, and the metal particles will eat up the other gears.

As for the diff splines, super-glue them into the diff halves, it's a typical point of failure.
