Here is the custom AYK Radiant I built. I built it a bit custom, hopefully the purests won’t be too mad that I didn’t build it stock.

Very nice car, consistent color scheme, beautiful body...and we shouldn't ever need to apologize to "purists" when building a work of art like this that is unique and different from boring box-art.

Anybody can follow a manual; to do something like this takes creativity and vision, and execution.

I agree, please don't apologize. It's your car so build it your way.
... and what a beautiful car!

Very cool project! I love the color! This is powder coated?
I am also working on one and was wondering about which CVD and wheel setup to use. You mentioned Kyosho axles. Did you use axles and wheels for the Optima?
Very cool buggy!

The CVD’s I used are for the rb5/lazer and I used matching Kyosho 12mm hexes

Excellent thanks! Did you have to change the bearings width or they fit just right? Thanks for the info, that really helps.

There are two different lengths of axles for these CVD’s. There are the short two “stripe” and the longer three “stripe”. I used the longer axles as pictured which allowed me to shim the inside or outside of the hub as needed.
I actually used new Kyosho bearings front and rear. They are the exact same size as the Radiant ones.
