XL chassis or not?

I've just got a rather battered and unloved, though complete, T3 Factory Team.
As is the way, I can't leave it as is so I've ordered an XL chassis for it and a few suspension parts to freshen it up.
Has anyone run the two lengths of chassis on astro and which did you prefer?
I'll be using a mild brushless and it'll be an occasionally used truck, won't keep up with the T6.1 but it'll be fun none the less.
