RC10L gearing question

Will a 64 pitch 115 tooth spur and a 27T pinion fit an original RC10L with a modern brushless motor? I just put the motor in and it doesn't slide all the way back to the ends of the slots due to the bottom T-bar and metal mount. It's really close. I can't pull it apart quite yet to test as I don't have diff balls yet. Just looking for an answer before I start putting it together and cussing.

You don't have to assemble the diff totally to check that. Even without diffballs you can check.
Just put the left rear and left front wheel on the car, put the car on it's side. Place the bearing into the spurgear and mount the motor. You should be able to see and check the fitting.
We actually never race 64dp gears as they strip way too fast with brushless motors...

I would go with 48p too if going brushless. Agreed that it would destroy 64p in no time. You also might want to go with a smaller spur gear and larger pinion. Otherwise, the car may be very spin out prone on any surface using a brushless motor.
