Hello,

I have what I believe to be a Team Associated graphite chassis for the 1988 YZ10, are these chassis made to be used with the middle chassis spine and tensioner ?

Thanks

You could probably go either way on that chassis as the hole to mount the front of the spine is there but people only used the spine in the very early stages with this car as soon as the first top decks started to appear everyone wanted one. Yes I realise I didn't answer your question :D

I would agree. The holes are there, so the intention is to provide an option to reuse the spine plate. Something is needed for a belt tensioner, whether it's the original spine plate or a top deck.

Structurally, you probably don't need it. So it's up to you to build it how you wish.

If it helps in any way, I have that same optional chassis on one of my 870c's from bitd, and that ran with a centre spine as per the original format.

I think mainly it was for somewhere to mount the belt tensioner however as the car did run a top deck also, removed for the purpose of this picture.

My other more race-focused 870c has the standard chassis, though drilled-out, and no centre spine, but ran a Jammin jay upper deck with the hanging belt tensioner.

I guess it really depends on the format you intend building the car; with an upper deck or not?
