Hi,
I am looking for an alternative body for the Traxxas Nitro Buggy. The Original has an cage around it. Does anyone know a body which fits nicely around the outlines of this chassis? I looked at the bandit body, but I am not sure, has anybody tried this?

bandit is not very close for shock towers or pan alignment. I just get a tbg body when I want one to get covered. I've made cages out of the kyosho scorpion roof/cage assy.
Otherwise I really haven't seen anything remotely close to forming to the nitro buggy pan besides an equally harder to find body as the Duratrax Nitro Max BX which required a boatload of cutting outside of the lines.

I wonder if a protech 4 would fit from a yokomo 870c. Has a pretty wide taper, the motor area has space where a nitro would sit. I can take some measurements on a repop I have

thanks for the options. This is the car I built:
It is converted to a electric car, just as stickboy007 started on in one of his videos. I took it apart again because I wanted to use some of the parts on another build. It did not perform really well. The rear had a lot of flex where the electro motor is mounted.
I did try a trx-3 body, but this was to slim and would need to be mounted really far forward. This would result in a gap between the rear schock tower and the cab of the body. I did not like this.

Yes you would need some extra bracing somehow. And looking at the chassis and your setup, the protech iv would have probably worked nicely.

I wonder if a TRX-1 body would fit? Lots of gratuitous width with that one but it gets fairly shallow pretty quickly away from centerline.

ok, a protech iV body is approximately 5.8 inches wide at the belly. That is for about 4 inches of length.
the body then tapers from 5.8" down to 2" wide in a distance of 3.3"

Thank you, I have looked at this body before, but I don't think this will fit over the pan sides of the chassis.

I will measure the chassis to see if this would fit. However, I don't think it would look appropriate to put a 4wd yokomo body on a 2wd traxxas

.
An other option I have thought about is the Schumacher top cat body. Looks quite the same to me...

I did this to my Bandit:
Maybe you can do something similar, it is a nice and roomy body

It is a shell from Kamtec.

Of course that's a trx1 body on same chassis for comparison. Body could go down in front but hits the tub sides already.
I lost the post but the yokomo yz10 bodies are doable with some creative trimmings...
