Losi JRX2 Proformance Build

Here goes. This will be a mostly stock build of a JRX2 Proformance buggy. However, I couldn't help but finally open up my Uber rare gold Losi shock bodies.

I removed the mount on top of the transmission case. I feel it's a much cleaner look without them.

More to come.

WOW! Nice. I actually just sold a set of gold shocks, couldn't beleive what someone paid. That said, now I want them back :D

Are you going to run this beauty? What's the electronic plan for it? SO many questions, keep the posts coming!

It's the standard "LRM" (Low Rotational Mass) tranny for anything pre-retrofit (which was XX-like) from Losi. It might have looked good on paper but it's not quite that great a design tbh  It wasn't that reliable... The MIP for AE and its copycat the Stealth really set the bar - then Losi followed. What's crazy is that the kyosho 2wd's that came in the 90's were running a similar transmission to the LRM , I was always told because they hired the engineer who did the LRM... they hadn't quite learnt

Superb pics Lavigna. Thanks for sharing all this with us. This is some crazy eye candy here 8)

I don't know where the LRM gearbox not being reliable idea came from. Maybe i am just lucky but I have run brushless power through mine and a lot of carpet track laps. Levels of power and grip we never had back in the day and I have never had a failure. I think the external adjustable diff was a great design and very innovative for the time. I might go so far as to say it forced AE's hand to create the stealth as the original RC10 transmission needed a lot of fiddling to make work right.

I finally got back to this project. Here are a few small updates with more to come shortly.

Although I have a set of new stock towers, I prefer the Factory Works as the material matches itself better. I am also using their amazing washers through out the build. Thanks as always to Jeff Malar for all the great parts.

The Tecnacraft Ti rods were used and a little beat up looking. I spent the time to refinish and polish them, and they look pretty great now.

It's a roller. I don't love these wheels or paint, but they are what I have at the moment. I think I may be changing the look but for now it's very clean.

The grey sliders came from a donor car and had these Losi decals on them. I thought they looked cool so I carefully trimmed the edges that were lifting. This cleaned up their appearance.

The early style rear arms are a pair I had, and decided to use.
