we wont talk about what it cost to restore it 8) .. but this is my original truck i raced for several years until the xxx stuff came out .. best designed rc truck they ever made imo, it was a force to be reckoned with at my local track in its day ... its restored mostly true to its original form but i did add the sway bars simply because i thought they were kool losi parts, doubt theyre worth much for anything but a fast oval track though lol ...

Awesome! I know I appreciate/value the shelf queens that were MY OWN racers back in the day more than the others, justifies spending more on them, right? LOL

Absolutely... restoring someone else's car is cool, restoring one's own is the shiznit. No expense spared on such cases, agree!

thanks for the replies ... lol yes, being your own original truck justifies it  i tried not to think about it as i 'pulled the trigger' multiple times a day, in the end i had an impressive stack of parts bag labels lets put it that way, 'and' there were so many parts left over they turned into a 'second' build that i actually run .. i bet that never happened to anybody else before lol .. check it out .. FPV setup on a pan servo, high power LED lights (yes i can fpv around my property in the dark) full chinese brushless setup (3000kv on 2S), flysky gt5 radio system with gyro (that is actually more effective than i thought it would be), has about a 200 yard range limited by the radio not the video and runs around 30 minutes on a 5000mah .. its a nice build in itself, just not a restoration ....

Oh, those are cool! I really like your paint schemes and the pan servo idea. The green Race Prep plugs are the icing on the cake! What FPV set up do you use?

yes im fortunate to have saved all my old plugs they were literally everywhere in boxes and old batteries etc .. got them all together, acetoned them pretty clean and replaced the contacts out of some newer orange ones i got ahold of for free actually .. definitely icing .. im sure you noticed the other flaws like the incorrect servo wire on the esc and the rawspeed decal which im pretty sure wasnt around back then, i need to fix that with this crowd lol ..... on the fpv im not big into it i got the stuff off banggood to experiment with, forget the brand but the vtx is some generic 25-1000mw with onboard dvr which is cool, cam is a foxeer mini arrow, and im using either echine googles or i have a hawkeye monitor which is better for fpv'ing a car imo i have a headgear apparatus to snap the monitor into also but yeah better than googles for a car anyway .....
