Another long time lurker, finally joined so that I can participate. The wealth of knowledge in this site is amazing. About me, I kind of did the whole RC thing backwards - I played with real cars when I was younger, and now that I'm older, I really enjoy playing with RC cars. I personally enjoy the building/tuning aspect of the hobby, figuring stuff out and solving problems. I don't have any real brand loyalty, I really enjoy all RC cars. This site convinced me, despite my wife's objections, to pick up a well used, but solid RC10 GT. My initial plan was to clean it up, go through it, and resell it, but after reading about the history of Associated cars, I've decided to convert it to electric and add it to the fleet. I have access to a full machine shop, so I don't shy away from fabbing my own parts, and I have been considering converting my GT-e into a drag car... just to stand out in a crowd of Drag Slashes. Since most of my experience is with 1:1 hot rods, I plan on adding some extra vintage hot rod details to my new toy. Think of a shelf queen car that gets put through its paces. Anyway, I'm glad to be a member, to learn, and hopefully contribute if I can.

Hello and welcome from a (former) north Californian.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with, make, build etc. There are a few GT fans here.

Thank you!
Honestly, I'm looking forward to what I come up with myself. I have a general plan, but they never work out exactly as intended.
Whereabouts in northern California were you?

Has there ever been a custom job that came out exactly as intended? I highly doubt it
Welcome to the site.

Right on... I'm in the Northbay, Sonoma County. My family is from Redwood City, moved to Forrestville in the 60s.
