Nice racing.

I'm not sure why, but that racing looked more fun than modern racing. Maybe it;s just me, I tend to get the jump timing wrong or fly off the track.

Thanks, yeah those were great times. Much more enjoyable I feel. That big jump caused havoc for both stock and mod buggies due to distance and the slick conditions. Made it hard in both classes to clear successfully.
I recall Glen Harkey, the race announcer, called my car the "Dinosaur 10" due to me running a stock gold tub RC10, with no hop ups, no mods, and even the original body the car came with as well as the stock steering bellcranks, when most everyone else was running CF chassis RC10's with lots of hop-ups, more current bodies, trailing arm RC10's, or the JRX2's. The only thing I do know I had different was the 48P gears and Parma gear cover so I could access the top diff adjustment nut.

They were unlabeled hand out motors. I think we were allowed to buy 2 more for 3 max, (one motor came with the registration to the stock class) and had to run one of the 3 provided. They were normally engraved with a number and logo, so that during inspection you had to have one of the motors you purchased before and after each run during the tech inspection process.
We were allowed to change brushes and springs, and that is it. The rest was how well you broke it in, without wearing out the commutator too much, car setup and gearing. The batteries helped alot if you had good ones.
