Hi all,

I am confused, I just opened an old package out of my stash of 6210 caster blocks, see picture below. These caster blocks are no where near the 30 degrees. More like 0 degrees. Is this a known issue?

I also found black 6210s in online shops. Will these have the correct caster angle?

I forgot to take a picture with hinge pins installed to show the angle, I will add that when I get home.

30 degree blocks will have a straight through hole, 90 degrees to kingpin. When installed in the arm with 30 degree kickup, you get 30 degrees caster

And the 0* makes it so its 90* to the ground when installed correct.

Yeah, effectively what AE is calling degrees is not the degree of the actual part, it references what it will end up being when installed on a kit with a 30* kickup

The one set with the large angle was marked 25°, so that would have been labled as a 5 degree set, right.

One more question, when reading through setup guides, when caster of 30 degrees in recommended, it actually means to use the 30 degree kickup as caster angle as well?

No they are labeled the true caster angle, the actual angle drilled compensates for the 30 degree kick angle, so you don't have to. Rc10 only had a 30 degree kick

Let me phrase that differently,

on todays labeling what angle is given? the actual final resulting caster angle that takes the kickup into account or the angle in the part?

Then for "racing" what final caster angle is actually recommended?

I have almost finished a graphite mid-motor conversion with a flipped front arm mount and shock tower. there I needed the 25° in the caster block to get the front turnbuckles to work.

No, newer labeling is still same. Youll never see anything more then 30*. The degrees they give you is not as it sits on hinge pin. The degrees it gives is that (label), when its installed.

The package label does not care of kickup, as some cars are 25 ir 20. But youll have to take that into account when choosing and hub degree.

Ill take a picture fir you snd youll get it right away, it is confusing but once i shoe you youll understand.

Me personally I would prefer the angle of the actual part, but as the RC10 kickup was a constant of 30° I can understand that they label the true caster when it is installed. Now on a B4 (B6 ?) I believe you could change the anti - squat (kickup) by flipping the front arm mount around, that way directly changing the caster angle with that.

Anyway I needed to tilt the caster forward to install the upper tie rods in front of the shock tower on a build I did.

So the blocks I used out of my stash were labled by hand with 25° which would have been labled 5° on the package. Right? -> the ones in the picture with the angle.
