Hello , at first this project was to build a runner from a stock Optima Mid i picked up from Ebay .

let's start with a complete disassembly

All parts cleaned and polished



I milled the stock chassis

I put the right screws on the wing mount



The buggy will be fully equipped with some optional parts that i already had.

Steel center gear (OT85) and rear ball diff

LiteSink motor plate, carbon fiber mounts and home made anti sway bar

The aluminium chassis was not to my taste , luckily i found something unique to replace it




2nd strip down I took the opportunity to swap the ball diffs with gear diffs and install a new front bumper

Trinity Pure Gold 18x2



Completed !


As you can guess it's too clean to race , now the runner project turned into a winner contest (botm July 2020).

Beautiful build, blast! I really like your color choices for the paint, quite original! I see you mounted your LiteSink the same way I did with one of my builds, mounting it inboard instead of outboard. I think it's meant to be mounted outboard so the heatsink is outside the body where it will get some airflow. It's definitely cleaner mounted inboard, but you might have to consider that cooling ability will be reduced with almost no airflow passing over the heatsink when it's mounted inboard. I addressed that issue by cutting a hole in the front window and an exit hole at the back...at least if you'll be running it.
