Hey guys I’m new to the forum and am rebuilding my 1985 original RC10 I bought new for $185. Still have the receipt. I am looking for a few slam parts in the transmission. I need 2 new felt seals and I noticed one of the idler gears in the trans has some tooth damage. Any ideas? I can’t find these anywhere.

The good black idle gears are hard to come by. The less desirable white gears come up fairly regularly. 3D printed gears are easy to find.

If the car isn't in "restorable" condition, I'd consider the outdrive bearing mod. It supports the outdrive much better which reduces chances of damaging idle gears.

I see 6633 and 6614 on eBay for $30 shipped ea. If you want to try and save a few bucks you can try Facebook r/c groups. I agree with the 3/8 x 5/8 outdrive bearing mod. We were doing those in the very early 90's when bearings were roughly $10 ea. I'd skip the 3D gears since they aren't as durable.
