Diff spring vs clutch spring

Hey guys. Took apart the transmission of my 10t to clean it up, assess the condition, and throw in some new bearings... in the process, I noticed my diff thrust spring (that goes in the drive shaft) is missing. I have one on order, but I’m wondering if it’s the same as the spring on the assembly that holds the big main spur gear on?

I just hate to sit around and wait for another week to get this tranny back together.

No, not the same.

It was probably a good idea to replace the thrust spring anyways. If they loose tension, it can cause the diff to run loose and damage it.

Damn. Well, thank you. Guess we’re back on hold. This is my last step major step before firing the thing up for the first time in 25 yrs. So close!
