Never throw stuff out

I remember throwing out a white nylon shaft with a smaller point think on the end some years back no knowing what it went to. I'm trying to reassembly the shocks as part of the rebuild and I instantly remember what it was for :(

Next time put all of the tools with the spare parts so I don't forget ...

Part number 6429.

While not $1 anymore, they are still out there.

The edge tip is for disassembly.

I'm going to try to print one tomorrow. If that doesn't pan out I will look at ordering one.

I've thrown many parts out that are much nicer than what people are currently asking a mint for on ebay.

I'm sure many of us are in the same boat

I’ll just add.. no matter how long you keep something.. if you throw it out, 2 weeks later you will need it! Never throw anything out!!

When I rolled into my last job, there was legacy "junk" in every nook and crannie. At first I thought "imma ckean this place up!" Then I thought, "maybe the old-timers brfore me knew something I don't" I MacGuyvered a ton of stuff with all that junk! It drove me crazy working around it and reorganizing it umpteen times and I got rid of some obviously obsolete stuff but in the end, the junk won. I couldn't toss anything either  . If you've got the space....yeah, never throw stuff out. I sure as hell kept Chuck Mawhinney's "TRANS/FILL" dipstick. It was still in the carboard mailing tube with the shipping label.

While I have given away plenty of good stuff to my family and friends (received as well), I rarely throw anything away.

I don't really sell stuff either. If I do, its because I bought something cheap with the intention of selling it.

Hahaha, so true! Legacy "junk" is going to be my new excuse for everything laying around my place. "Hey, it doesn't matter that its junk, its got legacy........."

To be fair, I also have a MOUNTAIN of associated shock tools and plastic wrenches
