SR315 LED Power Source

I've got the DX3 w/SR315 setup.

Aux1 is being used by a cooling fan on the motor heat-sync.

I have added 2 white and 2 red leds for front and rear lights. I'm not sure where to safely grab the power from?

My options are:
1. Y split Aux1
2. Grab power from the Batt plug on the Rx.
3. Buy a SR515

like I said I'm not sure the best way to do this. I know the LED lights are 5v but I'm not sure what the fan is drawing?
I don't want to burn out anything pulling to much power from a single plug, maybe someone that has done this before can help me out?

Using the Y should be ok....depends on what esc u have and how many amps the bec in is.

I agree. The LEDs won't pull very much current at all, so you should be fine with any of those options.

I'm using the ARRMA BLX100 ESC.
BEC Voltage 6V
BEC Current 4A

Thanks for the reply!

The LED's don't draw much. No worries pretty much any path you take. Are the LED's designed to drop in, ie. do they have a built in resistor?

No resistor on the lights, they're a cheapo setup I got off ebay.

I want this setup correctly if I need one let me know I'll add it.

Yes those have resistors. You can see the little lumps in the heat shrink near the leds. Be sure to keep them intact.

Thanks very much for the help I really dislike going at this stuff totally blind so please know I appreciate the reply.

Here's a thought I just had.. Can I run the cooling fan off the Batt plug?

This would free up chnl 3 (Aux1) to use for lights?

Usually they have a nice heavy trace connecting all the power pins so that should be fine.
