Behind the curve RPM

I know I’m a mile behind the curve with this one but I thought I’d share it anyway.

Some of you longstanding members will remember me picking this car up about 12 years ago having no idea what I’d bought other than an RC10, I was pretty much hoovering up anything RC10 in the UK at affordable prices back then with little thought.

I thought it was a bitsa mongrel and was surprised to find out it was actually worth doing something with.

So Jeff, Jason and Aaron to the rescue and I now have this mocked up. Just an initial build followed by a tear down and an introduction to Mr Rit.

I have some Dynotech arms for it and as it will be a racer I’ll probably fit them although these RPM arms are obviously in used condition.

Wow nice build ! Doesn’t look like there’s much left from the car you started with. Especially if you go with the Dynotech arms. You can probably put most of the donor car back together once your done with this one.

I didn’t even think about that, pretty much only the front bulkhead, spindles and carriers

I really like your choice to go with the gold shocks with black ano caps. What parts are meeting Mr. Rit ? I’m assuming black. The A&L steering setup staying its original color ?

To be honest as with most if not all of my projects there’s not a lot of choice about them being from the UK, just got to go with what I have. The problems with that, I’m not always sure what I have, generally because I’m still learning about this stuff.

I’ll only be dying (black) the arms and front bulkhead, I quite like a bit of mix and match with white and black.

Looking good but I liked that blue tub. Is it a factory one?

I don’t think so but I’m not 100% sure, it’s scratched to death on the underside.

Over a year this one has sat doing nothing but a slightly revitalised interest in the hobby has moved it on a bit.

Now almost fully mocked up baring steering turnbuckles. I noticed the front bulkhead has some stripped threads so I have a replacement white RC10T bulkhead for it. I’ve installed the Kyosho hub and shaft conversion on the rear as worked out by Stickboy007 and I thank him for that work 👍

Next is to pull it apart give the parts a good clean and dye the blue parts black.

Thanks. I was never sure if it came with everything. That's actually a heck of a deal since the J-concepts is offering new nose braces.

No this one’s going to be a runner so not too bothered about none original parts. Its probably going to get the Dynotech arms on it too so was never going to be 100% original.
