Let's have some FUN! Losi Super Baja Rey 2.0

One of the more entertaining RC videos I've seen in a while.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iE4qlMOUyLg&t=107s

Perhaps a reminder that we can take these things a little too seriously (I do anyway).
After all, these are just toys and are made to go out and have FUN!!

"Are you hungry?" hahaha....

I've picked up an SBR2 from a shop in Hunstville on Tuesday and I'm just waiting for batteries to arrive.

Looks like a good time, thanks for sharing. Funny timing as I was planning on getting my Losi Strike running again for some springtime fun. Not quite that crazy, but it's tough as nails and fun to play around with. I've got a new 10.5 brushless system that may end up in it. I have an electric HPI Savage around here somewhere too. it is pretty fun and just about indestructible. Might be time to dust it off. :D

I see a Kenji & Cox Bros USA version in the near future
Make it happen boys!

Absolutely, go out there and get those trucks MUDDY!
I guess most of my go-fast RC's are vintage and breakable so I'm reluctant to have that sort of fun with them. Perhaps it's time to start buying modern - and from manufacturers who actually support what they sell.

That doesn't leave many options. Like two.

If you don't like waiting, that really only leaves Traxxas.

And then there is a "me" problem. I really don't like most "modern" cars. Crawlers and monster trucks are the only thing left with any soul to them.

I hear ya, I'm certainly no fan of most of the modern stuff.
However, as much as I like my RC10's, this isn't 1985 and AE has stopped making re-re's and parts to maintain their vintage cars so I guess I'll run what's available.

Regarding product support, I'm putting Losi/Horizon to the test. While waiting for batteries to arrive, I've been going over the SBR2 and discovered that they've over-tightened the ESC mounts and broke both left side tabs. I've reached out to Horizon today and they replied quickly with a request for documentation, photos and description of the problem etc.

ESC left side is broken.jpg

I'd rather not run the truck with only two screws securing the ESC so I've requested a replacement.

This is only the second Losi I have owned and my other one is the smallest RC in the collection.

... and here he is next to big brother.

I predict that my lab Sadie is gonna hate that thing!

I've never had one myself. Nothing against them, I like most of the vintage stuff.

But I try to be practical. I have nine RC10 based vehicles, allowing me to minimize the number of spare parts that I need to keep around.

But I have to admit, those Mini T's are tempting. I've come close to buying one a couple times.

Hahaha that’s great ! Yeah that bad boy could really fly high and far. It may look like a regular SC truck but that’s actually an 1st gen E-Revo Brushless edition. Back then they came box stock with a Castle Creations Mamba Monster system. Once I realized that it had basically the same platform as an nitro Slayer Pro I got together all the need suspension, bumpers, body, and AE SC8 wheels and tires to make what’s now known as the E-Slayer Pro. Absolutely wicked truck on 6s !

Sorry if the pics are a little grainy but they were taken back in 14’ when I built the truck.

Na, they're fine. I'm using a 20-year old Olympus digital so I'm used to seeing pics a lot grainy-er than that.
I always like the Amsoil livery. I don't know much about Traxxas but, apart from the lay-down shocks, isn't the E-Revo similar to the Slash 4x4?
... and you ran it on 6s?? Wow, I can't imagine a 1/10 scale truck running on 22 volts. That explains why it was air borne.
Do you still own the truck?
