I am not too sure which section this should go into, so i am putting it here. It is kind of a wanted ad, i suppose.

A while ago now I was gifted a lone alloy wheel by an RC community member who knows i am into unusual alloy rims.

It took me a while to actually work out what it was, but after much digging I now know it is an R&D Racing wheel, and I have found a mag review in which the writer added a set of these very rims to the car he was writing about. This is the only reference i can find to them anywhere.

i am hoping that somebody on here might know a little more about them, or possibly even have a few of them kicking around that can help to complete my set - long shot i know.

They are very intricate and detailed when you look at them closer, especially on the rear face with has strengthening webs and a rough, almost porous cast finish(?)

I was looking at the alloy wheel in the first couple of pictures, and I thought "I've seen those somewhere before".... but before my fuddled old brain could remember, I scrolled down and saw the photos from the RS4x4 magazine article. I had that issue back in the day, and loved the look of that Q8-livery Sapphire....

Sorry I can't help with finding any more info or wheels, but big thanks for jagging a good memory, mate....

Yes those were most definitely cast and trued up / machine finished.
