Here is the beginnings of my "Resto-Mod" of my Turbo Ultima
Original chassis,(of course), original rear bulkhead, and swaybars. Located an original front bulkhead.
Rear of the bulhead is all "new" Ultima. CNC motor plate, "rere" transmission with slipper, and motor guard, also "new" Ultima/Optima ball diff.
New gold shocks, and steering gear.
I do still have all original parts, but, the transmission, and original motor plate, are being rebuilt to "out of the box" specs, and being put away in a ziploc.
Shock towers are reproductions of the "3K" optional towers by Vintage RC.
I went to the Gold shocks because they just work MUCH better than the Platinums.(yes, I still have them too.)
Upper deck )not shown, yet) Is from Factory Works RC. Better/stiffer than original deck, and will work with Velcro straps rather than the "Zip ties" of the original.
My cars are not shelf queens, they get used, a lot.
And to top it , will be using my original body from 30+ years ago ....
