New to me RC10gt

So, I purchased a Gt, got it at a great price as far as I am concerned. From the pics on the auction, it looked as though all it needs is a little tlc, and maybe a new engine. From the research I have done no biggie. I didn’t buy this thing to be a period correct shelfer, but because I couldn’t afford one as a kid. So, it will be a project and maybe a light runner. Nitro is completely foreign to me, so any tips would be greatly appreciated. I’ll post up pics next week when I get it.

Engine is seized. But, this looks to be damn near new. So, for under 200, shipped. Seemed like a deal to me. Just got to pull the engine and fuel tank and clean is what I'm Suspecting. Hopefully no rust. Again, tips welcome.

Can’t imagine why the engine is siezed, maybe ran once an put away with fuel still in it? No rust on axles or turn buckles. This thing looks like it was ran once and put away. Pretty sure I got a sweet deal.

The engine is probably just gummed up which is pretty typical of nitro engines that have been put away 'wet' so to say.
Just needs a clean out and I'm sure it will be fine. The easiest way is flood the engine with nitro and let it soak for a while, then rock the flywheel (or use pullstart) to gently try and free it up.

poking around a bit, the fuel fitting broke of the tank. And the tank itself is pretty gummed up. I’m guessing a new tank and fuel lines are in order. Any suggestions on after market setups? Could also use a pull start too? The return spring in the original seem to be missing.

So, I guess I’m pleading for help on this. I never owned a nitro, but the AE gt, I always wanted one. I got one and I need some help from you nitro gt guys. I understand it’s vintage, I just want to get this thing running so I can understand how they work. Fuel tank thing is kind of important. I’m really dumb when it comes to this. Saw some tanks on eBay, just 1/10th scale generic tanks. I’m assuming just double sided tape? The original had screwed to the chassis. Is there a cheaper alternative for fuel lines? Are they generic rubber hose? Please help guys. I really want to run this thing at some point.

This will help you search what you need by their part numbers.
This was taken from the manual for your truck.

Thanks for that. I have the manual. After searching eBay, i totally understand parts for this truck are very limited. Like the fuel tank. I’m asking if you guys have an alternative to the original. The plastic fuel fitting on mine broke of as I was poking around. Is there a a way to replace this, or do I need a new fuel tank?

Take the tank out, run the fuel line from the fuel fitting to pressure fitting, fil tank halfway with fresh nitro fuel then shake it..... dump out fuel and repeat as necessary till clean.

Which one of the fittings broke off the tank ?
The one that goes to the muffler or the carb ?

My bad, I didn't read the part about the broken fitting. Are there none on ebay?
If you get stuck I have a near new black lid tank similar to yours, however, I'm in Australia

Great find. I have been around nitro rc and control line planes for many years. The engine seize issue is a very easy fix.
1 remove exhaust, glow plug, carb and clutch. Soak entire engine in Marvel mystery oil its cheaper than nitro fuel and works great, if you want add a little wd-40.
2 I have a zip lock bag full of gt tanks, send me a pic and I could help you out there and probably any other issues that arise.
I dont have a pull start for that engine, but a bump box would be your best bet and a great investment.

The one to the carb. The plastic one.
