Hi guys, I'm going to use the Trinity comm lathe bought months ago and I need to know wich is the proper motor to use in. It came with a Fantom stock motor but I would like to know if a silver can will do the job or if it's better to keep the Fantom. Thanks in advance.

My lathe came with a stock 550, which is slower than a 540 silver can. Even then, it works best if I slow it down. I suspect that a cheap crawler motor would work well.

Sounds interesting, maybe it is the time to give to my Integy 55T a second chance.

Back in the day, I believe that most people used 4 cell packs on their lathes as well.

Variable speed is nice. If you have a servo tester and spare esc, it makes it easy.

Just plug it into the tester's outlet port and setup the esc as usual. An older esc with adjustments is a little easier than push button models but none of them are hard.
