T3 axle question

I'm new to Associated stuff, please bear with me. I know there are 3/16" & 1/4" rear axles, but what about these stubs that are both? I thought the 1/4" axles/wheels were 1/4" all the way through? Clearly these wheels are made for these axles since they even have a tapered part that meshes with the stub. But when going to buy replacement axles or wheels, what do I have?

What you have in the picture is the 1/4" stub axle. The axle is 1/4" with a tapered end for securing the wheel nut. If the wheel fits the pictured axle it is a 1/4" wheel.

Thanks for clarification! I thought the size hole through the wheel determined the "size"

I am surprised that was still on the T3.

That axle will need a bearing with a 1/4" inner diameter.

I scored this T3 in new condition, so it has never seen any abuse. I was considering putting CVDs in it, but sourcing original yellow wheels may be difficult.

You'll have a harder time finding new cvd's (without piecing them together) than new yellow wheels.
