In 2018 I found a brand new hydradrive for a good price but without any specific goal.
After a conversation on the subject with another vintage addict at my local track,
I heard of an english shop (DMS Racing) selling reproduction of a shaft adaptator for RC10.

That's enough for a new project to start bubbling in my head.
In the first half mid 90's, I use to race an RC 10 team car version with a lot of mods; I doesn't still have it but I can do a replica...
... or, I can do a replica of the car wich inspiring me at the time, bingo that's gonna be the project :)

Like many other french RC10 racers, in 1993-94 the man to follow was Arnaud Collet and his awesome prepared cars.
First time I see one of them was in 94 at national rounds in Mours and then in St Rambert (or maybe the opposite doesn't remember well  )

So my replica will be the 94 model... First attempt of a replica for me and really exited by relive the way of how a great pilot prepared his car.

As usual, the base car (a standard RC10 world):

First thing to get work on, the transmission:

Thank to the person who sell the base car with the MIP foam as the replica need one (a little difficult to find).

The wing supports get also a little work; polish and countersunk

Rear arms are dremelized to slide on bumps

As it can't be seen, I add a little mod, milled half of the inside reinforcements to get less mud/dust...

Image

Hinge pin is secure by a stop screw to take off the front e-clip , and a bolt is add to secure rear toe

To fit the original, shocks caps are replaced by plastic ones (probably to fix eventual leaks) and spring cups and braces are dyed in black.

Time to fit the right electronics: Novak hammer pro, ko ps1001, Airtronics 92237 and SMT turbo 11x3

Image
Servo saver is Traxxas, adding a body support in place of a steering bellcrank bolt (allows take off front body post) , esc heatsink is filed.

Luckily I found the Airtronics Caliper 3PS ; I really want to ride this car with the real set up .
