no doubt. An empty kit box cost $40 to ship without discounts. I had a seller try and send me some parts without tracking to save the costs and they just never arrived. Basically any single parts is plus $5 and groups of parts are +$20.Phin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 1:03 pmUSPS shipping costs are part of the reason. They have risen a bunch in the last few years.Lowgear wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 3:18 am ...
It blows me away how much vintage R/C stuff is going for these days. It's not even contained to the nice stuff either. Well used, worn out, broken, beat down, scratched up etc... vehicles and parts are fetching head-scratching ridiculous amounts. I don't understand what has warranted the current demand that has never existed up until this point. Why the sudden change?

It also depends on what vintage hop-ups you are looking for. The original 10 style parts are just at a premium over the 2/3/4 parts. Single mint RPM parts go for 1/2 the price of a full car. This white MIP center link is at $52 plus shipping with a day to go. It's likely going to go for near what I got a whole t4 kit for.Dadio wrote: ↑Fri Feb 25, 2022 7:20 am I never raced an RC10 back in the day so when I went looking for one I had an image in my mind of a box stock car , it's what I wanted , Andy's arms and mod steering etc meant nothing to me , when I built my Hotshot I wanted to reproduce my race car and that meant it needed all the trick bits , I'm sure that's what drives most people not currently racing , if I ever get back into racing my vintage cars then I might start looking for the old custom parts . As to the price , well it's been a while since I could afford even a worn runner to restore .
Heck I bid $20 on that part which is kind of crazy given what it is.
I picked up a t4 just so I could have a kit to mess around with option parts on.

If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

RPM or Associated, those molded center links bring good money, even the black ones. But the white ones get stupid.
I have a few broken 10T bellcranks that I bought just for the center links and hardware.

Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
