Thinking of vintage racing my RC10

As per title im just getting back into racing after 25 years away. Ive got a B6.1 but my local club also runs vintage races so Im thinking of campaigning one of my old RC10 team cars. First question is parts availability seems pretty sparse for these cars currently so am I going to end up waiting for months to find a part if I break something or is it not as bad as I think and im just looking in the wrong places?
Second question is I have a brand new set of xray buggy shocks Id like to use on the car, the rears are perfect length but the fronts are longer, is there anyone making longer shock towers?
Third question is what have people found is the best lipo location in these chassis (its an indoor carpet track)?

Factory Works could probably make/may have a taller front tower option or you might consider running some internal limiters to shorten the rebound.

Yeah, Jeff has a few options for different length shocks.
I'd recommend soaking all the nylon parts for several days to rehydrate them. Warm (not boiling!) water is best. I like the mini crock pots for this.
If your car has the Stealth transmission, I'd probably run the diff a little tight. Gears and rings can be hard to come by. A few members are trying out some generic washers but the verdict isn't in yet.

It's not hard to find rc10 parts. It's hard to pay the going rates for them.

Parts for the team car are pretty available and it usually doesn't take to long to get them. Many parts are available on shapeways(3d printed). I broke a few parts when I first started running my car, caster block and steering knuckle, but nothing since I put a bumper on the front The cars are pretty durable as long as you soak the nylon.
The prices for most parts aren't that bad as long as you aren't breaking then often.

Thanks folks, soaking the parts was not something I was aware of so top tip there. Also youve just introduced me to shapeways so theres a little game changer right there! Im having chats with fibrelyte here in the UK about the shock tower, if no joy there Ill give factory works a go.
