Yokomo 870c Build

Hi All,

I've just received a Yokomo 870c and I'm starting to collect parts for the rebuild.

Does anyone know the size of the ball diffs/thrust balls. I've done a search on here and have come across two answers 3mm and 4mm so not sure which is correct. Also after some diff rings, does anyone have a link to something that will be a direct fit?

Cheers

DSRCC sells them, and does list the size. Seemed like an odd imperial size.

Thanks mate, found the correct size. 1/8 for the diff balls and 1/16 for the thrust balls. Got a set on ebay, hopefully they turn up quick as I'm itching to get a start on this build.

Pic of car as I received it. As you can see it looks like it will clean up real nice. I've found most parts that I need (waiting for them to arrive), all I have left to find is 1 shock clamp and a set of tr8 tyres.

I've started to strip this down, not doing anything extraordinary here, I just want to strip, clean, replace any missing or broken parts, rebuild diffs. new body and wheels and that's it.

Most of the parts have arrived, so I can now get a start on it. Still haven't sourced any tr-8/tf-8 tires yet but I'll keep looking.

Starting to put this back together, pretty much all cleaned. Just need to get some diff grease so I can finish off the drive train.

Pretty much back together now, diffs rebuilt and are working nicely as far as I can tell. Just waiting on the body and still need to find a set of tires for it.

Thanks. Not sure on the motor, there is a K engraved on the can. I'll open it up at some stage and see if I can tell how many winds it's got.

If there is a K on the can than its a Killer more than likely. 14 turn.

Got my body back from the painter, so all I need now are for my tires to arrive and to find a clean sanyo 1700 SCE saddle pack so I can stick some electronics in it.

Looks great , it seems odd not seeing a top deck to the chassis , you just never really see the old backbone chassis used .
