Confirmation if a Le Mans 240SB armature is authentic?

Hi everyone, I recently purchased a used 240 SB motor. Upon inspection I am suspicious the armature is not authentic. Can anyone confirm this based on the images below? The winds are messy and damaged and to my eye it looks more like a stock rotor. Other LeMans armatures I have and have seen elsewhere (very few pictures online) have a smoother, silver appearance between the winds, not green as seen here.
Thanks!
PS I don’t have better pictures now but can get others tonight after work if needed.

Hehe that’s basically what I was thinking too!
I need to decide pretty quick whether to keep it or not, so definitely interested if any other opinions if others see this within the next day.
The case is decent so considering whether to keep it just for display…. But not too happy about the armature condition regardless.

Looking at the wind more, it looks like it was smushed up to stop the wires from coming loose, and the one corner shows damage to two of the wires from an impact with something.
I’ve never seen a wind like that and have a hard time believing it came from Kyosho that loose.

I have a nice 240SB, I'll disassemble it to take photos of the armature/windings and post them here later this evening. Post a pic of the windings at the commutator. The 240SB is a 19 turn, double wind.
The Coxbros also have one. They're likely the most hardcore Le Mans motor fans on the site.

Wow that’s awesome - if you can give a direct comparison I would really appreciate it!!!
I’ll grab a closeup of the comm in about 20 min as soon as I’m home.

Better pictures attached. It’s dirty and worn but look like a double to me. Not sure how to judge if it’s 19 winds though?
I did notice there are no drilled holes to balance it…. Does that mean anything?

I don't think its authentic... They are green at the ends but the sides are silver, smaller diameter wire, and they do have balance holes drilled.

Thanks for confirming - the silver sides is what I see on my 480 Gold, but wasn’t sure if it was true for the 240SB or other LeMans motors from the era. also I noticed the connections to the comm look pretty rough on this one - just doesn’t say “quality” to me like my 480 armature does.
Guess I don’t have to feel bad now about pulling this armature with its ugly wind to replace it with a new modified one that needs a home! Fortunately I happen to have one
R6Cowboy - im pretty much convinced already so don’t worry about posting those pictures unless you want to! I’d still appreciate them to help learn more about the 240SB.
Thanks again everyone for the quick and helpful feedback !

This one is legit for your reference. The 240SB windings are 0.65mm wire. I measured two different wires on mine, as you can see in the pics. So if you have a caliper you can do the same. But as coxbros1 said, I also think you mat not have an authentic armature.

You guys have some really dirty commutators there. Juicedcoupe shared this comm cleaning stick link a while back.

No prob, I was already working on it. And in case you need any other future Le Mans muscle confirmation, I have a few to compare to.

Picked me up one of those sticks when he posted that. But I prefer using the commutator sandpaper.
Or pull out the big guns on the really roughed up comms.

Thanks again those pics are super helpful and it’s pretty clear my armature is different. I dont have a caliper presently but that’s a great tip I hadn’t thought of so will look for one for future use. Also will look into the cleanup tool. I do have a nice lathe also for the really dirty jobs
Cheers all!

My caliper I got from Harbor Freight many many years ago and its worked flawlessly since. It's $23.
