Does anyone know this electrical connector? It came on a recently acquired RC10 Team car. There were two - one each on the NiCd battery-ESC connection, and also for the motor. I haven't seen it before. Metal surface area looks pretty substantial. thanks!

Yes, Race Prep. People used to trim the end so they could reverse polarity when used for motor connectors.

The orange were known for causing esc’s to go up in flames. Really easy to plug in backwards- not fully but enough to make contact. The green was the updated version that was just a little tougher to zap, plus it has a ceramic ball to increase the pressure between the plates.

Thanks makes sense. In this case the guard is still on both connectors.

I like the look so was trying to decide whether to keep it or switch out but this has me thinking best bet to change! i could see a tool end or small screw could get in between the plates pretty easily even without user error plugging it in!

It’s wired up to a Futaba MC112B so nothing special there. I have some power poles I’m planning to move other gear to eventually.
