I'll try to print some when I'm back from travelingclm wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 11:38 am Even though I dont have an undamaged tire to test them with I modified the files for the Jrxt rims and tossed them on cults for testing. Feel free to try them out and let me know what needs modified. I am going to work up some disks for the LXT wheels next and maybe a printable mold that could be used in vacuum forming maybe.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
I just fought my printer to print an outer rear and.. well.. the reduction in scale from 1.6 to mini jrxt was not kind on it lol. Making alterations to the wheel to thicken it up where it cant be seen and reprinting.
Here is what the mods are looking like, all done inside the wheel and not outside. The thinner one is a direct replica of the stock.

Printer is still being a pain, apparently it partially clogged part way through the test print. But I am much happier with this shape.

Bonus is it's way closer to the right color! What filament are you using?

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Reprapper from Amazon, unfortunately I am having a hell of a time getting the first layer to stick after a year of not using the printer, I see creality has brought out a auto bed leveling kit for these so I bought 2. I am starting to wonder if it is a contaminated bed or old pla.. probably just time to rebuild the print head and get it nice and clean again. When I get home I will toss filament in my magnet bed printer and see if it will work with this pla.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
I understand this is taking the details to a dumb level, but does anyone have ste skill to design up a direct mount spur gear like the original losi spurs without the slipper? I admit I haven't got the skills or ability to design a gear at the moment
And second, if I manage to find a way to get a replica spur is there anyone out there with a lathe to modify a mini jrx2 top shaft to a c clip spur gear retention? It should just be cutting the shaft down and add an eclip groove in the right spot. The cutting is no big deal, it's the appropriate e clip groove I have no idea how to cut correctly.
Oh yeah, any idea what this sickly yellowish clear grease is in the trans?

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
I can design it but I do not have a machine shop to produce it lol. I assume you want the original grey style one and not the "profiled" version? If you don't mind waiting for a bit I can work on that, Just been super busy with work.clm wrote: ↑Sat Jul 01, 2023 2:01 am I understand this is taking the details to a dumb level, but does anyone have ste skill to design up a direct mount spur gear like the original losi spurs without the slipper? Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Oh I have recently acquired a resin 3d printer, and a spur gear should look nice off of it even if it is not really functional. As for style either would work, I want to put it on the junior.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
the resin might hold up better than you'd expect. I'll let you know when I can start on it, might be a couple weeks though before I have time to sit at the pc for not work.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Well... Hmm.
I went to try to adjust things to make the steering bellcranks clear everything better, I figured the Mini Jrx2 steering posts were too short knowing the molded posts were taller.
So I measured everything and did up some models. The Mini Jrx2 posts are technically taller even than the molded chassis posts when scaled correctly. I was thinking of making a spacer to raise them the difference of the graphite and the molded posts... well that is not going to work.
These are scaled to the mini jrx2 posts, The orange one is the graphite chassis post, the blue one is a molded post, and the yellow one is a rough model of the actual Mini post...
looks like I am going to have to use shims on the ball stud and maybe file the threaded portion shorter to keep it from rubbing, a simple spacer under the steering post is not going to cut it when it is overall taller than a molded post to begin with lol

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
Well looking for something else on Ebay I bumped into something very familiar looking
What gets me is the inverted rear shocks, which has been something that people are currently doing.

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
With leaky carts this will keep oil in the shock long term lol
I am still waiting on printer parts, upgrading my ender 3 pros to 4.2.7 main boards and adding the cr touch kits to them.
I did buy a new vintage car on ebay myself... well used. Almost looks like someone found it in a closet from their childhood.. 1 year ago lol
And I got another one, going to ue them as bases for other models.

I see I'm not the only one that has way too many of these. I think my current mini count is 4 JRX2 and 3 JRXT.clm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 09, 2023 9:00 pm With leaky carts this will keep oil in the shock long term lol

Re: The ultimate Mini JRX2 thread
I was looking at that one, too. If I hadn't bought all the stuff to do a Retrofit trans for my LXT, I would have been tempted by the LRM Universals.
