Buying spree at old hobby shop going out of biz

While driving to a national park in CA, I saw a hobby shop in an old part of town. What the heck…I turned around just for a quick look. They were going out of business and were traxxas and crafts focused. Looking more closely, I saw tucked away in the corner of a glass case containing vintage team associated parts. I stayed in that section for one hour lol sifting through parts spanning three decades. RC10talk goldmine. They laughed and were pleasantly shocked at me for buying 450 bucks worth of parts. I would too. The nib RC10B2 chassis both composite and graphite were my favorite finds from that memorable visit.

I always try to stop at the small shops when traveling, I've gotten lucky finding RC10 and 10T parts a few times

Super cool when unexpected things like this happen. Good find.
The nearest by hobbytown (100 mile trip) has multiple medium sized totes full of old AE parts. How old, I don't know, I've never had enough time to sift thru them while I've been there. But one of these times I'm gonna plan time to do so.

Honestly at the point where they have totes in the back you can make them a low offer and have a chance they would take it.

They hooked me up with 10% discount on everything. The guy in the pic would throw in a couple of things for free to help out and speed things up with the transaction. Needless to say I stopped by again on the way back. I think the owner was headed out to Texas. I remember when local Ace hardware store had a small hobby shop section maybe 20 years ago. I don't see that anywhere anymore. I think hardware stores are a great place to insert a serviceable hobby shop in my opinion. Not too big and not too small.
