New lower wishbone mounting position and improved steering for the Tamiya Grasshopper/Hornet?????
And yes, it's heresy of the worst kind!

Nice work

... But may I ask if you did something for the rear end first?

The rear is already perfect
Seriously (or not very) I was thinking more JRX2 at the back or at least stylised around a beam axle.

I'm not even sure what kind of frankenGrasshopper you are doing here, but I can say for sure that my Hornet imprecise driving is likely to come from the rear end even more than from the front end

. But I like when you call this perfect, that definitely shows how much this is a serious project.
Looking forward to your progress on this one... I have a Hornet sitting there, and I'm definitely considering doing something from it, as the first purpose of it was a special yearly race for which the target is now to use the Lunchbox. I need to find a new purpose for my Hornet.

For the rear I'm planning on a JRX2 lookalike so it will probably be 4 trailing links with a panhard rod to stop lateral movement.

Now integrated the top camber link mount plus a dozen other minor changes .

Yeah a 4 link in the rear would be pretty nice.

Yup but for me it must cosmetically be JRX2 ish for the win, I know the JRX2 has many more links but hey ho!

It's looking pretty good so far, I must say those short front arms look even funnier on this then they did on the RC10.
RELEASE THE TAMIASSOSI!

Even the short arms are adding to the track width, needed to get clearance to chassis so it's about 1mm wider than a stock RC10, going to have to stick some wheels on to see how it Looks, might have to play with the rear track?

About a million tiny changes later and the steering works albeit needing bent track rods , now just have to settle on shocks, kind of had my heart set on not cutting up the chassis but I don't think I can do it in a satisfactory way other than trimming the top the shock mounts a bit .
Now I have wheels on I think the increased front track looks fine .

Lil bit more , made a start on the rear , right now it's locked solid at the rear as I still have the original rear suspension mounts in place , the wheel base was shortened by about 15mm by the front arms so my next trailing arms will be 15mm longer to get it back to the right length , it's hard to get the camera to focus but you should get that it's got a firm nod to the JRX2 , the longer lower arms , the trailing arm mount shape , I'm quite pleased with the trailing arm mount , it's located by 4 original screw points , two are from the stock suspension mount point and the other two are for the side nerf bars , I really did want to keep the nerf bars so I may well have another revision to do , luckily the stock nerf bars are soft as noodles so might be slightly bent to fit .
